Sick of carting around all those wands? The WoodChopper box will now accept spells (https://gswiki.play.net/Minor_Shock_(901) – for one charge and https://gswiki.play.net/Major_Shock_(910) – for ten charges), along with wands for the magic-impaired. Additionally, when charging the box with wands, the box will now transfer the charges of the wand directly into it. No need to insert or remove the wand all the time! Additionally, if for whatever reason you wish to clear the charges (by why would you?!), you can just PULL the box (you DO get a warning that the box will be cleared of charges by doing so).
Speaking of charges! Your WoodChopper Box can now hold up to 40 charges! Mind you, each item creation will still eat 10 charges, but a fully charged box will let you make 4 items before needing to be recharged!
Your WoodChopper box will now refuse gems that do not meet the threshhold for use (less than 500 silvers value). Additionally, when inserting a gem, you will now be notified which tier the gem would work best for. You no longer need to PINCH your box to clear a gem out once used… however if for whatever reason you decide the gem isn’t good enough for what you want to make, you PINCH it to clear it out (but again… WHY?!)
That’s it for convenience updates, but what else can make you consider purchasing on of these fine specimens of craftsmanship?
Weavable Beads – The WoodChopper Box will now create a collection of 25 weavable beads instead of one single measly weavable bead!
Fletching Shafts – The WoodChopper Box will now create a bundle of 5 fletching shafts instead of one single measly fletching shaft!
Tier 3 Updates:
You can now make cobbling uppers if you have cobbling materials unlocked (currently limited to chopines).
At Tier 3, Your WoodChopper Box will gain the ability to create lockmaster clasps, as well as accept those silly bow, crossbows, and shields!
If you unlocked the ability to to make foraged sticks at Tier 2, your WoodChopper Box will gain the ability to make foraged bark automatically when unlocked to Tier 3!
A NEW UNLOCK OPTION: If your WoodChopper Box is at Tier 3, you will be able to unlock the ability to make cobbling heels!
New Wood Options Accepted: aeunarad, aformosia, amboyna, bramblespine, bubinga, ceiba, ebiara, ghostwood ,inceana, ipe, ipil, iroko, jarrah, jatoba, katalox, koa, kwila, leopardwood, makore, merbau, mirindiba, monkeypod, morado, myrtlewood, narra, nightwillow, ovangkol, padauk, redheart, resaeun, sapele, sassafras, smasten, sucupira, tabebuia, thuja, tulipwood, wandoo, yellowheart, ziricote
Additional updates may be sure to follow, however these are the super important ones that needed to be done right now!
Special Thanks to GM Elidi for allowing me to set this up for cobbling heels, GM Kaikala for help setting up the weaveables code, GM Gyres for helping me hunt down some minor LM information, and GMs Isten and Vanah for their QC.
DISCLAIMERS:
Just a quick note, as I’m sure it’ll be asked. Illthorn and Sephwir are both still considered extremely rare/rarity 10 (https://gswiki.play.net/Material/saved_posts#Material_Rarity_-_GM_Rankings) and will not be accepted as their runestaff/quarter staff/shield/ranged types, however if you have alter fodder that is of these materials, it will take them.
Additionally, while you can make the blocks of wood for forging from any of the accepted woods (except lasimor, wrotwood, and widowwood), forging requires an update (similar to what needed to be done for fletching) for them to be recognized/work properly. The people in charge of that system are aware of it, but I can’t promise if/when that will be updated, if ever.
As noted, there will (likely) be more, but due to extenuating circumstances, some of it had to be pushed back to ensure the big very important need to get done right now updates were handled prior to RW opening. I don’t want to make promises as to what those updates will be, so I will leave it cryptically at that.
