For those who couldn’t make it. Here is what was discussed at the most recent Fireside Tales. We did a catch up on Landing Events. It’s long but informative. I cut out a lot but will post a whole thing on a wiki page. Hope this helps someone! — Elphie

[Silverwood Manor, Quiet Garden – 14006]
A pair of stained glass doors open directly into the garden, where a well-manicured carpet of verdant grass is surrounded by a circle of stately haon trees. The strong trunks and layered green leaves create a quiet area of insulated serenity. Moonlight glints on the waters of a perfectly round pond at the center of the area, the surface dotted with glowing white votives. Daisies sprout at the base of an elaborate polished marble statue. You also see the Archales disk, the Coramae disk, the Yardie disk, the faenor Chandrellia disk inlaid with intersecting bands of jet, the Tayler disk, a silver-traced carved mahogany cart with some stuff on it, a small fire burning within a ring of stones, a flat oak log, a wide wooden log and an eternal flame.

“If you’re like me and sometimes feel overwhelmed or lost when major events happen in the landing, then tonight is perfect for you”

Leafiara agrees, “That’s our hope, at least.”

Elphieya recites quietly:

“We are joined by town councilors Leafiara and Chandrellia who will be sharing their wealth of knowledge with us”

Leafiara amiably greets, “Good evening, everyone, and welcome.”

Leafiara enthuses, “Hopefully everyone’s ready to talk about the lay of the Landing, as it were!”

Leafiara says, “And…”

Leafiara says, “That’s about as far as I can get into my notes before having to throw away the rest, because things change that quickly around here.”

Leafiara says, “Just last night–yes, really, last night–we received information that basically forced a complete overhaul of today’s event.”

Chandrellia mutters, “Mayors.”

Leafiara says, “We had intended to cover several ‘persons of interest’, but with the Landing about to face an attack by the krolvin, instead we’ll actually need to start with a review of three other individuals not on the original list: Kragnack, Falzcrow, and Praxopius.”

Leafiara says, “By the way, Councilor Fahlo was planning to be here, but a last minute incident prevented him.”

Leafiara says, “He apologizes, but nonetheless he was able to turn over his notes to us in time and much of the following information comes from him.

Leafiara exclaims, “Let’s begin, then!”

Leafiara says, “Our first person of interest, as a minor footnote, is Kragnack. He’s a former Czag Dubra–a leader of the krolvin war fleet–who acquired necromantic power and, well, a tentacle for an arm. Only one arm. What can I say, things get strange out there.”

Leafiara says, “Landing adventurers killed him in late 5118 and ultimately, he won’t be shaping any future events nor has he shaped all that much of the past, so we needn’t spend much time on him. However, the name is important to the upcoming stories as he did intend to wage war against the Landing.”

Leafiara says, “Next is Falzcrow, the man who brought us revelations last night at the inn…”

Leafiara says, “Falzcrow is Kragnack’s half-krolvin son, but opposed his father’s ways, aided the Landing in past battles against the krolvin, and has expressed willingness to aid in this one as well. What’s this one? Well, there have been a string of recent abductions of people in the Landing by the krolvin, and Falzcrow has relayed an upcoming attack expected as early as next Eve of the Huntress.”

Leafiara says, “But, of course, that raises the question of why we’re being attacked…Which brings us to the first person of interest we’ll need to cover in any detail: Praxopius Fortney, also known as the Alchemist.”

Leafiara says, “Like Kragnack, Praxopius has actually been dead since late 5118. Unlike Kragnack, however, almost everything that’s happened in the Landing since the end of 5117 has been affected in some way by this one man for both better and worse.”

Leafiara says, “I could frankly spend six or more hours diving into the ramifications of this one man alone…But let’s trim it to only what’s needed to understand current events.”

Leafiara says, “In late 5117, Praxopius abducted Malluch Burdos, son of the Landing’s gem dealer Murdos Burdos, and injected him with an alchemical formula to give him exceptional abilities–as well as to grant Praxopius a measure of control over him. Praxopius equipped Malluch with magic gauntlets and Malluch would go on to become a vigilante calling himself Rone and executing people on the streets over crimes.”

Speaking to Leafiara, Yardie asks, “And that’s why he’s the Blood Son?”

Speaking to Yardie, Leafiara says, “That’s far beyond the scope of tonight. But yes, that’s one bit of fallout of Praxopius’ history.”

Leafiara says, “The militia eventually captured Malluch, but Praxopius–unknown to us at the time–needed to find a new champion…So Praxopius had his forces abduct Thrayzar, who at the time was the Landing militia’s marshal, then brainwashed him and made him into a second Rone vigilante.”

Leafiara says, “You see, Praxopius was on a mission of revenge against the krolvin who had killed his family years earlier. However, he himself had no fighting abilities and had lost the use of his legs to a curse, so he blackmailed the Landing into helping him wage war against Glaoveln in exchange for the return of Thrayzar along with a cure to undo the brainwashing.”

Leafiara says, “Praxopius didn’t intend to return alive from Glaoveln. Instead, he had found a way to create a substance that would restore the use of his legs and allow him to battle the krolvin one last time, but which had the intended side effect of also poisoning and killing himself if he didn’t die in battle first.”

Leafiara says, “Along with that combination of strength serum and poison, Praxopius lived up to his Alchemist name by developing another poison from half-krolvin blood which would be able to eradicate krolvin by targeting their bloodlines. He supplied it to Landing adventurers in the form of coated daggers. Some used it to stab Kragnack and corrupt him, which overcame his necromantic powers and abilities to regenerate and enabled his defeat at Glaoveln.”

Leafiara says, “Which brings us to today…”

Leafiara says, “You see, days before Praxopius and his fleet sailed to Glaoveln, he had promised that he would have the anti-krolvin poison formula delivered to the Landing’s own Xorus in two years. Xorus says it never arrived.”

Leafiara says, “According to Falzcrow’s information from last night, somehow the krolvin have found reason to believe that the formula did arrive. That’s why they’ve begun kidnapping citizens in search of it–and a fleet is on its way to attack if they can’t find it. Their name for it is ‘blue suffer,’ or ‘Lalk Morgil,’ as you might have seen written on the well in the square or near the Raging Thrak Inn.”

Leafiara says, “That’s about the extent of what’s known regarding the current situation and now the question is how to move forward… Falzcrow’s suggestion has been twofold: first, that we attempt to find where or if the formula was delivered since the current krolvin warlord Tyrrax won’t be dissuaded until it’s been located, and second, that we destroy it to prevent it from getting into the wrong hands–which would include the krolvin themselves–or being studied and developed further as a poison to be turned against other races.”

Leafiara says, “While opinions are mixed on the second suggestion, it seemed that last night most were at least in agreement on the first suggestion that the formula must be found–assuming it even exists. Meaning that it wasn’t a lie, hasn’t already been destroyed, and so forth.”

Leafiara says, “And that’s the absolutely most recent history.”

Speaking quietly to Leafiara, Elphieya asks, “Other than the Krolvin believing it exists and was delivered, is there anything to suggest it does exist?”

Ithilwyn softly asks, “Or any hint as to where it may be?”

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia whispers aloud, “The shipment that Amos was bringing in.”

Speaking to Elphieya, Leafiara says, “I suppose there’s at least the fact that Praxopius did create those poison-coated daggers, but it sounded like he had something larger scale in mind.”

Speaking to Elphieya, Leafiara admits, “But I’m not sure.”

Speaking to Ithilwyn, Leafiara says, “No idea on that, as Praxopius was very vague about what he was even delivering, never mind how.”

Leafiara says, “As I said to someone last night…”

Speaking to Leafiara, Archious asks, “And so you are left with Xorus’ word that he never took delivery?”

Tayler says, “He was very vague in general.”

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Ithilwyn asks, “Did Xorus give any clue as to how he was to receive it?”

Elphieya quietly asks, “What would he gain from lying about it?”

Leafiara says, “We’re commencing a search for we don’t know what, located we don’t know where, in the hands of we don’t know, delivered we don’t know when–or if.”

Tayler says, “Guess we should all check our boots for any mysterious vials.”

Speaking to Elphieya, Archious asks, “What would he gain by disclosing if he has it or not?”

Ithilwyn softly says, “I trust Xorus. If he says he didn’t receive it, he didn’t receive it.”

Speaking to Ithilwyn, Leafiara says, “He never knew. None of us did, since Praxopius said it in front of a large crowd.”

Archious says, “I don’t know Xorus, it was merely a question.”

Leafiara says, “Best guess is that Praxopius intended to deliver it through some magical means.”

Speaking quietly to Leafiara, Elphieya asks, “Just another impossible task in a long list of impossible tasks. When has that ever stopped the citizens of the landing?”

Tayler says, “I trust Xorus as well, but what’s true and what he might be willing to say in a rather public forum are two different things.”

Leafiara says, “So, before we proceed with any further Q&A, I do have a question for you all.”

Speaking to Tayler, Yardie says, “I….I don’t know him to the extent of most. But….I would question anyone and everyone.”

Leafiara says, “Like I said, we basically had to change plans for tonight’s talk in response to last night’s revelations…”

Leafiara says, “But the people we were originally going to cover were–in alphabetical order–Alendrial, Amos, Cordarius, Larsya, Octaven, Thadston, and Thrayzar. To give a more general overview of who has what legal power in and around the Landing.”

Leafiara curiously asks, “Is anyone still interested in hearing about any of them, or is all attention focused on the coming krolvin attack?”

Leafiara says, “I do think people are often confused about who can do what in the Landing.”

Leafiara says, “A perfect example being people conflating the town guard with the militia or vice versa.”

Tayler says, “Or the armigers with any organization.”

Leafiara says, “Well, the armigers are probably about to go away.”

Leafiara says, “They were hired by the old Guard Captain, Dunigan, who Thadston has just replaced with Thrayzar.”

Leafiara asks, “I suppose we should at least talk about Thadston, hey?”

Speaking to Chandrellia, Yardie says, “All I honestly know regarding his history, is that he is hated by many, but then again, so is Amos.”

Speaking to Yardie, Chandrellia says, “To a point yes, but he is also loved, he has mean streak, for those that dont know, his favorite hoby is seeing how many woindows he can break.”

Leafiara says, “Thadston is the most stories individual we could possibly discuss tonight, to be frank. I said we could spend six hours on Praxopius, but Thadston could be a four-day session of six hours each.”

Leafiara says, “Suffice it to say…The Landing has known Thadston as an Imperial knight who was the acting commander of the Hendoran outpost, later on as a citizen appointed by Mayor Lylia to become the Landing militia’s marshal, and now our current mayor himself.”

Leafiara says, “Almost anything that could be done around here, he’s done it. As a citizen, a non-citizen, a marshal, a removed marshal… many things.”

Leafiara asks, “To Yardie’s point, I’m not sure if Thadston is hated so much as… controversial? Contested?”

Leafiara says, “Thadston is at times a very angry man who can make hotheaded decisions.”

Leafiara says, “At the same time, he’s been an Imperial knight commanding an entire outpost. He has a… resilience to him as well.”

Leafiara agrees, “And yes, he’s extraordinarily stubborn.”

Meril asks, “Is he counted among the knights still?”

Speaking to Elphieya, Yardie says, “Some would say that’s the story of the Landing.”

Leafiara says, “His clashes with former Mayor Puptilian were apparently the stuff of legends, or so people tell me. I wish I’d seen them.”

Chandrellia says, “But, is also a good militray stragtigest.”

Speaking to Meril, Leafiara says, “No, a bit on that…”

Leafiara says, “A blood mage witch kidnapped Thadston’s son many years ago, at which point he resigned from his knight position to pursue and find his son.”

Leafiara says, “Despite said resignation, many soldiers in the Imperial outpost located in the grasslands south of West Gate remain loyal to Thadston even now.”

Tayler says, “I suspect he’ll make a better mayor than Walkar did at least.”

Leafiara says, “I suppose time will tell. Some do fear the kroderine shards imbedded in Thadston’s arms.”

Leafiara says, “Which… again, could be its own lengthy tale, but in short, that happened as a result of a sacrifice he made to close a portal that was allowing explosive spores into the Landing area.”

Leafiara says, “But enough about Thadston as an individual…”

Leafiara says, “Let’s at least discuss him as a mayor and how his powers intertwine with other Landing authorities.”

Elphieya quietly says, “Before I forget to ask, about the poison or whatever. Why is it so important to the Krolvins? just as a weapon or something more significant.”

Leafiara says, “Ah, maybe that wasn’t clear, but…”

Speaking to Elphieya, Yardie says, “It seems it could wipe out their entire race.”

Leafiara says, “The poison only targets krolvin. And potentially half-krolvin.”

Speaking to Elphieya, Yardie says, “The last thing we need is another genocide.”

Elphieya quietly says, “Ah, I guess I didn’t realize it only affected them.”

Sairai softly says, “Like the poor dwarven years ago.”

Archious says, “If there were a substance so deadly to my own race I would want to control it as well, if not outright destroy it, but I could never take another’s word that the deed was done.”

Speaking to Elphieya, Chandrellia says, “In my opinon, a weapon, if they can study it, and improve on it, then taking slaves will be all the more easier for them, fear tends to allow one to hold power over others more easily.”

Speaking to Sairai, Leafiara says, “Yes, that’s potentially what we’re thinking… something akin to the Red Rot.”

Tayler says, “Where the Krols are concerned… generally I’m not a fan, but I would miss some Kraet greatly, and I would not like to see it worked into something to target other races, or everyone.”

Leafiara says, “Or the black blood curse that affected at least two people I know of in this room. One being me.”

Yardie says, “The control aspect would spur a creation of one that could kill others, as a means of retaliation. It would never end, because the knowledge of that would be to great for many to resist.”

Elphieya quietly says, “I think a poison that is able to target only one race is very dangerous indeed, no matter which race it is.”

Speaking to Elphieya, Chandrellia says, “Which is why we are so intent on finding it, before they are.”

Leafiara says, “The krolvin have historically been no allies of, well, anyone… but the half-krolvin being casualties is a concern, as is the potential of weaponizing this against other races.”

Leafiara says, “Chandy can take the lead and continue with Thadston if you feel we’ve covered this topic sufficiently.”

Chandrellia says, “And speaking of casualties.”

Chandrellia says, “Thadston has authority to issue commands to the town guard. He can do that directly by ordering individual guards or indirectly by ordering his Steward of the Guard, Thrayzar, who can proceed with the order and use manpower as he sees fit.”

Chandrellia says, “So he can allow or not allow people to enter the town or not.”

Chandrellia says, “As an organization, the town guard is responsible for law enforcement and safety within the gates, including having charge over our prison and other potential holding cells such as the Brass Tower. They make their pay from Landing coffers–or, at least, usually they do.”

Chandrellia says, “We do not control what goes on within those walls.”

Leafiara says, “We meaning the town council, right.”

Chandrellia says, “Yes.”

Chandrellia emphasizes, “Crucially, the town guard is not to be confused with the militia, currently led by Marshal Stormyrain. The militia primarily handles external threats, but does not serve as law enforcement nor hold civilian prisoners.”

Leafiara says, “We’re not law enforcement. Don’t ask us to put people in prison or get them out.”

Chandrellia says, “And on that note, we cant issue pardons, either.”

Chandrellia says, “Another mayoral power Thadston possesses is extending pardons for crimes. He has recently used this power to pardon Casiphia, who herself has another storied history.”

Leafiara says, “The militia has apparently built an antimagic cell to, I assume, hold more dangerous prisoners of war. But you’d maybe have to ask Stormyrain about that one and its intended use.”

Speaking to Chandrellia, Leafiara says, “Anyway, sorry, go on.”

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, “Actually I didnt know that.”

Chandrellia says, “However.”

Speaking to Chandrellia, Leafiara says, “It was just in the past couple of months, I believe.”

Chandrellia says, “A third mayoral power is that Thadston can work to change laws. This is a new power to the mayor as of the last election cycle and its boundaries are still being explored, so there might not be any sweeping or immediate change. Nonetheless, if you have proposals for new laws to fall under consideration, such letters would go to the mayor.”

Chandrellia says, “And on that note, I believe the Mayor could, or would deferre to us for advice on such issues, tho that h as yet to be explained to us, the Council.”

Chandrellia says, “The fourth and final mayoral power we’ll touch on tonight might or might not see rare use, as this too is a recent change in the laws. The town council deals in smaller scale community projects and conversations as well as voting on issues presented to us by the mayor or other authorities, like the Stewards who serve under him. However, if the councilors’ votes result in a tie, the mayor steps in to break said tie. This happened recently with a proposal regarding the construction of a new bazaar on South Ring Road.”

Yardie says, “Two for, two against.”

Chandrellia says, “And no, we will not discuss who voted what way.”

Leafiara jovially jests, “I think we should next cover how literally every Steward has a criminal history.”

Chandrellia asks, “So in a small break down, that is the power of the Mayor and questions on that?”

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia asks, “Do we have all night?”

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, “Back to you.”

Leafiara says, “In the interest of time and since we probably wouldn’t be best served to cover anyone, maybe we should go to open Q&A.”

Leafiara says, “Or ask if there are any particular individuals of interest everyone wants to know about.”

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, “Get out of my head, I was just gonna mention that.”

Leafiara says, “Out of Alendrial, Amos, Cordarius, Larsya, Octaven, and Thrayzar being the ones originally planned who we haven’t touched on.”

Tayler asks, “Amos is the one responsible for the Armigers of questionable origin and purpose yeah?”

Speaking to Tayler, Chandrellia says, “Yes.”

Speaking to Tayler, Leafiara says, “Yes, he funded Guard Captain Dunigan hiring the armigers.”

Leafiara says, “Hence the mention earlier that usually the town guard is paid from town coffers and tax silvers.”

Coglock asks, “The Guard Captain is still currently the Guard Captain?”

Chandrellia says, “They were brought in to help the Town Guard with security during the upheaval with the different factions.”

Leafiara says, “It’s part of why Dunigan’s gone now, replaced with Thrayzar.”

Coglock says, “Ah.”

Speaking amusedly to Chandrellia, Yardie says, “I thought Empaths were the mind readers.”

Leafiara says, “No one trusted Dunigan.”

Speaking to Yardie, Chandrellia says, “Shall I read your mind and find out.”

Tayler says, “That makes sense, only question I had on that group.”

Coglock asks, “Is Amos still a player in current landing politics?”

Leafiara says, “Things got bad enough that the armigers even had the town guard arrest the militia captains at one point. It was wild.”

Tayler says, “I missed all the schenanigans with the Rooks and the Mother and all.”

Speaking to Coglock, Leafiara says, “Yes, he’s ccurrently the Steward of the Guilds.”

Speaking to Coglock, Chandrellia says, “As of right now yes, he is… what Leafi said.”

Leafiara lightly says, “Oh, if we’re doing a Rook talk it’s going to be ten hours and I have to run it since I’m the Rook Queen.”

Leafiara says, “But on a serious note…When I said earlier that Praxopius’ fingerprints are over almost everything in the Landing over four years, I meant it.”

Speaking to Chandrellia, Yardie says, “I’ll pass.”

Leafiara says, “The previous leader of the Rooks, Rysus, was poisoned and killed by Praxopius.”

Leafiara says, “Which led to Casiphia’s rise as Mother.”

Leafiara says, “And, again, Praxopius creating those magical gauntlets… even after his death, the last pair left behind was also found by Casiphia, who became the third vigilante Rone.”

Chandrellia mutters, “And Mother.”

Leafiara says, “Truly, almost everything going on around here since the end of 5117 relates to him in some way or other.”

Leafiara says, “Truly wild.”

Leafiara curiously asks, “Do we have any other questions?”

Leafiara asks, “Or am I really going to get into how, well, literally every Steward has a criminal history?”

Tayler says, “Questionable voter base.”

Leafiara whispers aloud, “It’ll be quick!”

Speaking to Leafiara, Yardie says, “Corruption in the Landing.”

Speaking to Leafiara, Yardie says, “Done. The end.”

Speaking amusedly to Yardie, Leafiara says, “Nah, a lot of the criminality happens outside the Landing.”

Leafiara says, “Imperial standards are… different.”

Tayler says, “I’m from the Rest. Tax shelters are important.”

Chandrellia asks, “No other questions?”

Speaking to Leafiara, Yardie says, “I don’t deny their criminality….but I’m talking corruption. But I get what you mean.”

Leafiara says, “Okay, if no further questions, there is something I want to clarify at least.”

Leafiara says, “Which requires touching on the roles of Alendrial and Amos, who thankfully are pretty brief.”

Leafiara says, “Our current Steward of the Coffers is Alendrial DeArchon. She essentially oversees and approves usage of town funds collected from taxes…”

Leafiara says, “While ideas for new construction can be presented to the town council, approval or denial ultimately falls to Alendrial if the funding isn’t provided by the person or people making the request.”

Leafiara says, “So case in point with the earlier example of the bazaar…”

Leafiara says, “That one was funded by the Consortium itself, so it bypassed Alendrial and went to the town council.”

Leafiara says, “The point being that we can’t instantly approve every bit of construction you might want, no matter how seemingly a good idea.”

Speaking to Leafiara, Yardie says, “So much for an arena.”

Leafiara says, “We aren’t privy to exactly what kind of silver resources we have at our disposal, nor is it even in our authority, it’s Alendrial’s.”

Leafiara says, “Incidentally, even when funding is provided by the people making the request, you shouldn’t necessarily expect immediate results. The new garden recently built in Shanty Town was funded years ago through an effort started by Maylan in late 5117, with her contributions and those of dozens of others whose names are listed on the garden’s arch.”

Leafiara says, “And if you haven’t seen said garden, please, go take a look. It’s quite a pleasant little place, we think. Or hope.”

Chandrellia says, “Next is the Steward of the Guilds, Amos. He organizes with merchants and businesses in town and representing their interests before the mayor, town council, and, if applicable, Alendrial.”

Leafiara says, “Oh, wasn’t quite done, but go on.”

Leafiara says, “Go, go.”

Chandrellia says, “To the Landing, Amos is the newest of the individuals we’ve discussed tonight, having only moved here mid-5120, and there’s still a lot to learn about him. However, from what he’s said, he’s claimed to have worked with Alendrial and the Scions of Shaundara in the past, has years of military history in the Empire, and is a merchant who purchased distribution rights to hand pylons from the currently unknown creator of said weapons.”

Chandrellia says, “So in short, The role of this position is to act as the lead representative on the council, for the trade guilds and local merchants of Wehnimer’s Landing, including supporting fair business practices, instituting worker protection and driving commerce and trade for the town.”

Leafiara says, “Sort of intertwined roles–Alendrial and Amos need to work together quite a bit, I’m sure.”

Leafiara says, “Now, let me segue from that back to Alendrial, because she has been around a bit longer.”

Leafiara says, “Chandy mentioned the Scions of Shaundara…”

Chandrellia mutters, “Poor Alendrial.”

Leafiara say, “The Scions are an underground Imperial organization, regarded as criminals to the Empire but considering themselves freedom fighters, who fight for half-elven rights within the Turamzzyrian Empire.”

Yardie says, “Within.”

Leafiara says, “I suppose they can only stretch so far and not take the battle to the Elven Nations too.”

Leafiara says, “But as I was going to say…”

Leafiara says, “While we don’t know of any people in the Landing who are members of the Scions, we do know of several who became recognized as trusted contacts of the Scions toward the end of 5116.”

Leafiara says, “This includes Archales, who was here moments ago, the militia’s Commander Shinann, Gavrien, Kippe, and myself.”

Yardie says, “Hmmm.”

Leafiara says, “Having said that, I’ve never heard from them in the five and a half years since, so maybe they’ve severed ties or disbanded or some such.”

Yardie asks, “Why was there consideration to battle the nations?”

Leafiara says, “And if I ever get confirmation of Amos’ claims to work with him, maybe I’ll sever ties myself.”

Leafiara says, “Work with them, rather.”

Speaking to Yardie, Leafiara says, “Not literally battle, but advocate for half-elven rights. That’s what they do in the Empire, arguing that half-elves should be able to own land, for example.”

Leafiara says, “So I could imagine them doing something like pushing to allow half-elven citizenship in Ta’Vaalor if they lived there instead of the Empire.”

Leafiara says, “In any case, Alendrial was a former leader with the Scions.”

Leafiara says, “She was also a former leader of the Brotherhood of Rooks, now a local criminal underground organization that says it will defend the town with methods that legal entities such as the town guard and militia will not.”

Leafiara says, “She was known as the Mother. …not to be confused with Casiphia, who came two leaders later and was the second Mother.”

Leafiara dryly says, “The Landing, I’m telling you, it’s nuts.”

Giogionni says, “But it’s home.”

Leafiara says, “So, yes, not joking earlier…”

Leafiara says, “Ties to criminal organizations all over the place in Landing authorities.”

Leafiara says, “It’s funny to think that at one point Alendrial was a prisoner of Sir Thadston–the knight commander at the time–in the outpost, and now they work together for the Landing in positions of power.”

Speaking vaguely to Coglock, Leafiara says, “Time changes things, I suppose.”

Coglock says, “Frontier economics. It’s malleable and exploitable when there’s no oversight. I imagine, anyway.”

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, “Or that Casi was married to Thadston who is now Mayor.”

Leafiara says, “Oh, and as for our Steward of the Guard, Thrayzar… he was an assassin working for an Imperial shadow organization called the Ivory Thorns before coming here.”

Leafiara says, “We’re a shady bunch.”

Leafiara earnestly says, “Well, hopefully everyone feels at least a bit more informed than before.”

Chandrellia says, “But we all have one thing in coomon, no matter what, this is our home, and we intend to protect it with all we have.”

Tayler says, “And if they take over, free boat ride to Teras, drinks on me.”

Bakarus says, “Very well done.”

Speaking to Leafiara, Archious says, “Most informative.”

Leafiara say, “Okay, as a last recommendation, please do check out the Rusty Cutlass tavern if you haven’t already.”

Chandrellia says, “And again, thank you all, for comming to our tale this night.”

Leafiara says, “Thadston’s pardon of Casiphia has paid off already, since she’s the owner of said tavern and it’s quite the place.”

Leafiara sheepishly exclaims, “Oh, yes, thank you all indeed for coming!”

Sunwu exclaims, “Always lookin’ fer a good place to quench my thirst!”

Chandrellia says, “The Cutlass is the new place to be, good drinks, great food, good company.”

Tayler says, “Thank you for hosting, I was curious about some of the characters involved since I hadn’t quite moved here during the time those events were taking place.”

Leafiara ask, “But yeah, I mean… where else but the Landing would you have someone running around as a masked vigilante dispensing street justice against the Rooks, while also being the masked leader of said Rooks?”

Leafiara murmurs, “Can’t make this stuff up.”

Leafiara says, “And the lover of the militia marshal all the while, unbeknownst to him…”

Chandrellia says, “And married to the Mayor, who wanted you arrested, then pardoned you for said crimes.”

Leafiara rambles, “And then he pardons her…”

Tayler says, “Layers within layers.”

Tayler says, “Like an onion, but politics.”

Archious says, “This has been..enlightening. I will put the information to good use.”

Chandrellia says, “I do so love the Landing.”

Speaking to Sunwu, Archious says, “We will go now.”

Coglock asks, “Hold. Who was this? I missed the earlier portion of this? Was he dispensing justice on legitimate Rooks or what he felt were false, traitorous rooks?”

Speaking amiably to Archious, Leafiara exclaims, “Glad it was helpful!”

Tayler says, “The rooks weren’t really covered.”

Speaking to Coglock, Leafiara say, “Hm? Oh, no, Casiphia was acting as the vigilante Rone and occasionally attacked Rooks using nonlethal force.”

Speaking to Coglock, Chandrellia says, “Well, let me give a very brief run down.”

Coglock says, “I’ll need some rope, snacks and sleeping bags. Rope is to keep Leafi and Chandrellia here.”

Leafiara admits, “Very occasionally, I should say. I actually figured out she was both Rone and Mother years before the unmasking happened, partly after noticing that Mother–the leader of the Rooks–claimed that Rone was a thorn, but then watching Rone and almost never seeing her attack the Rooks.”

Speaking to Coglock, Chandrellia says, “If I say this right, Casiphia, was Rone, a known vigilatie that dispenssed justice to the crimibals of Landings that the tiown gaurd couldnt touch.”

Chandrellia says, “She, Casi, was also Mother, Leadr of teh underground “criminal” group known as the Rooks.”

Speaking to Coglock, Chandrellia says, “She was also married to Thadston, who is now our current Mayor, atht pardened her for her crimes as Rone.”

Coglock says, “Oh.”

Coglock says, “Well. Interesting.”

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia asks, “Is that about right?”

Leafiara says, “And now she’s the owner of the Rusty Cutlass tavern.”

Coglock asks, “Carving a path to Mayorship, eh?”

Speaking to Chandrellia, Leafiara admits, “I’m actually not sure if Casiphia and Thadston ever got married or were just lovers, but other than that, yes.”

Coglock says, “Partners to say the least.”

Speaking to Coglock, Leafiara says, “Well, Thadston did attach strings to his pardon that would prevent Casiphia from running for office or serving in the militia.”

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, “Yeah I wasnt sure, I just know Thadston has a soft spot for her.”

Leafiara says, “Unless the next mayor overturns him.”

Speaking to Leafiara, Coglock says, “Hah, but not against owning busineses.”

Chandrellia says, “Tho we were actually curious if Casi would actually try to run for Mayor.”

Leafiara acknowledges, “I’m really not sure why he thinks she’d mind considering that the things she did in the past really didn’t need her to be legally approved.”

Coglock says, “Interesting times.”

Coglock says, “I think I’ll check out the Cutlass.”
