Welcome to the TownCrier's Daily Discord Digest.

In this space, we at the TownCrier will attempt to provide a daily digest of select conversations at the Official GemStone IV Discord server covering a 24-hour period from 10 pm EST the night previous to 10 pm EST of the night listed in the title. Not all conversations will be (nor can be) reported and we will endeavor to utilize a neutral tone (although our unique senses of humor may show through).

Links may go to the Official Discord post itself, to the GemStone IV Wiki, or other useful and relevant places. In the case of Discord links, those links will send you to the Discord web interface. If you are not signed in, you will need to be signed in to see them.

General GemStone IV

Scruffy asked, “Anyone have an idea on whats the longest reaching melee weapon? Whip? Lance? Whipblade?” Yrsa cited a bit of information from the wiki stating reach did matter, but did not give details as to particulars. She went on to say that “it’s nearly useless, as information goes, because there’s really no way to quantify it, but reach apparently IS a thing to some degree.”

Milax asked, “Is there any way that the quintuple orb brooches from Rings of Lumnis could show lifetime stats? It’d be neat to see how much exp I’ve instantly absorbed since I first got this thing.”

Mitch said, “GRIPE GRIPE GRIPE! I HAVE A GRIPE! I’m 3X cap plus. I’m pretty much the only ranger who is rocking capped in shattered. What do i gotta do to get my animal companion altered?”

Sabotage asked, “any chance we can get sigil of mending to work with empath spells?” ASGM Estild responded in #gm-questions, “That is unlikely. They can train Transformation lore for that benefit.”

Yrsa asked, “can found feathers (not wearable) be woven into things? If so… how simple or basic can a woven item be?” Maylan answered, “yes, feathers can be woven. The minimum item count is 3 items.” She also shared the wiki page that provides more detail.

Tovklar asked, “any recommend methods for a wizard to deal with rift crawlers I should try if I head down to play with them later?” Lochiven suggested a helm with lots of padding, and adding slash resist to armor.
