What You Missed

General Gemstone IV

#general

PM Wyrom stated, “Low level people have handicaps in the heist.” and “Under level 20, it’s not so bonkers.”

Puppymonketietius found the following weapon in Plat. While we usually don’t focus on Plat, GM Avaluka also stated that there would be a version in Prime: “Oooh. That’s my maul that I made. :smile: Glad someone found it. Well. There should be a version of it in Prime, too.”

an ash-hafted vultite maul with a huge barrel-shaped head

l maul
Wrapped in bands of steel and etched with realistic wood grain, the huge vultite head of this maul has been molded to appear like an ale barrel. Sturdy braces of iron, each one sculpted into a sprig of hops, fix the top of the ash haft to the weapon’s head like a giant spigot. Fanciful carvings of sudsy foam cover the entire length of wood, the design cleverly sanded around the natural grip. A smooth oval of bubble-filled amber, the rich color reminiscent of beer, has been set into the pommel.
There appears to be something written on it.

In the Common language, it reads:
Whiskey’s Wrath

Mnute (muted) asked GM Avaluka, “If someone pawns an item like that GM made maul, will it be sent back out into the system to, hopefully, find a forever home?” She explained, “No, if someone pawns that maul … it would go on the pawn tables and only get into another player’s hands if somenoe else bought it off the tables.” He then asked, “So, if no one buys it off the table, then it goes poof forever?” She replied that she wasn’t sure. He stated, “That’s a sad outcome for a GM’s creative work. There HAS to be an alternative to find these items in hands that will appreciate them! We need an “alternative” shop for these to get auto-deposited when pawned.” She then brought up the number of items that get lost on the Locksmith floor. This entire discussion, which continued from this point, echoed the one on July 3, 2019.

In reply to the issue of lost boxfounds, Ponclast stated, “i just modified my sloot Larton code to look in the box then pause for 5 seconds so I can double-check contents. This of course doesn’t work for AFK scripters.” Tysong replied, “just modify it to EMPTY the box in your container instead”

Nick suggested people use LOOT , but GM Avaluaka replied, “I suspect Loot won’t pick up a Boxfound, either. Not 100% sure, though. I have a vague idea that doesn’t pick up Collectibles, either.” GM Naos added, “There is a subset of stuff that loot does not pick up. Clothing and weapons are two notable classes of item.” Raelee mentioned that the water breathing totems are also not being LOOTed and GM Naos replied he should add them.

#mechanics

Tsalin aka Jeff provided some advice on using the PEER mechanic to stay alive and/or keep your bounty child alive: “for me PEER is crucial to surviving in the confluence so I have it bound to my CTRL + Numpad numbers – which has subsequently made PEERing at all times and all characters a lot more convenient. but yeah it’s extra effort but almost guaranteed to keep your child safe – might not be worth the hassle to some”

Ashraam asked, Need help picking or not picking flares for UAC. If you had your choice between – Dispel, Grapple, or a high damage flare to add to UAC, which would you pick, or would you chose to keep your gloves/boots blessable?” GM Avaluka suggested, “Get flares, then join Voln and get to the step that makes your UAC attacks blessed no matter what.”. A Dark Elf suggested Unbalance. The conversation continued from there, getting more into selecting gear for specific encounters and types of mobs.

Ashraam asked, “If you have the tri-resist armor (10% crush/puncture/slash) protection from DR, how does that interact with warrior fittings?”

#help

Travakel asked, “If you fletch an arrow from faewood using flaring fletching can you bless that arrow?” GM Avaluka answered, “I would say not, as adding the flaring fletchings basically gives them a flare, which makes them not blessable.”

#scripting

Remember: Valid types in ;foreach are listed in ;foreach help – container is not one of them, but BOX is, for treasure boxes. Use your exact container’s name to target it.

FarFigNewGut answered Ashraam’s Lich question about waiting until something was in hand after X amount of seconds.

Athias contributed a list of gifted creatures for bigshot, ready to roll in array format.

Athias asked about Tangleweed needing an update (in Bigshot settings?), and people weigh in with some help

A Dark Elf contributed some Duskruin item types for gameobj-data.

Naamit asked LostRanger for a RECALL result to be added to the loresong script, ;loglore. He said … eventually 🙂

#wiki-talk

Athias said, “In other news, I noticed this phrase Killing a mini-boss will grant a long-term experience reward as well as normal experiance^^ Also, it’s misspelled. But I was wondering if anyone has actually confirmed this to be true. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it as a direct/specific consequence of killing a boss-creature.” Avalera posted a forum link in response from GM Ixix regarding long-term experience awards being granted for defeating pack, miniboss, and boss creatures.

Athias replied, “I wonder if it counts towards the 2x daily cap, which is why I don’t see it. It would be nice if boss creatures allow you to go over the 2x LTE daily limit” Doug replied, “I think we may be talking about different things? If you mean the LTE Boosts, then we are. If you’re talking about experience added directly to your LTE absorbtion pool (as thuogh you burned an LTE Boost), then we’re not — but I’ve never heard of any 2x a day limit there. Killing a boss creature adds regular experience to your field experience and LTE experience to your LTE experience pools.” Athias then suggested that the wording be clarified that it’s direct long-term experience and not a boost.

Athias also requested more information on whether long-term experience is granted for packs and mini-bosses: “Also, I’m curious if anyone has any clarification on the difference between a miniboss and a boss creature And on the clarification of the reward… I recently killed 2 miniboss creatures that were just shy of like-level, and did not get LTE boosts -> nor do I have any active long-term experience.”

Athias also reported the following:

Also, after a little bit of testing, the only boosts I’ve found that are randomly earned are:
* LTE (capped at 2/day)
* Enhancive Boosts
* Urchin Guide Access
* Urchin Runner Uses
I should clarify -> Earned through looting and not part of the daily login rewards

Naamit reminded individuals that Careuil Atelier was having an event at 9pm EST on art techniques.

#roleplay-in-elanthia

GM Vanah announced, “You can kiss people’s palms and fingertips now”

SimuCoin Events and Quests

#duskruin

Arianiss asked, “What’s the purpose of there being 3 different Heist groups?” Joskin, Sarmoya, et al. stated RP and that they require different skills and have different commands. Avawren provided a link to the PC and also quoted PM Wyrom from the December run as to the skill requirements.

PM Wyrom stated, “As an FYI, the OC stuff does have to get fixed. It’s not something I’ll get fixed tonight though. But the penalty to death isn’t working for the OC.”

Regarding the number of sips in one of the Duskruin shops, PM Wyrom stated, “Technically, the sign had it at 3 sips for at least 2 runs, but they never were updated or something happened. During this refresh, the GM who did the shop made the adjustments.”

Beldannon stated, “thinking dragonbones for bloodscrip would be a good idea.” GM Wyrom replied that it would be real gambling and can’t happen. He then added, “I’d run silvers Dragonbones though” and “Yeah, I’ll have to get it on the calendar.”

Ashraam asked if the ores were useful for anything this year or if they should be throwing the ores into the wastebasket since they aren’t pawneable. PM Wyrom replied that they have use this run. Ashraam responded, “I saw something about the holder things, but it’s hard to tell if that means you can use them all or if you just pick 5 and make that your holder’s color” PM Wyrom responded, “It’s a pick 5.” and added “But you also need totems now. Ores can be traded for totems.”

Vryshkana asked, “…does the rpa drop boost from one heist transfer to a different heist or are they all tracked separately?” PM Wyrom responded, “They are tracked per character.”

Regarding RPA orbs, PM Wyrom stated, “The “bad luck protection” started this run. Nothing is worse than last run. So it’s just still bad luck.”

Mitch asked PM Wyrom, “is that 25% if you’re in the proper room with a rat you’ll catch a rat (from the wiki) still accurate?” PM Wyrom responded he’d have to look into it and if you have the rat scent, which is a heist drop, it’s better. He went on to explain, “Other players won’t impact your rat.” and “There is specific messaging when you’re in the right room.” and “You should 100% know you’re in the correct room, if it runs east, and you just search, that’s not it.” Last, he said, “So if it runs east, wait, see if you see any clues.”

Regarding the Call Familiar items, PM Wyrom stated, “Okay, so the call familiar items do use MIU. Just as an FYI.” Melivn asked if that meant MIU for duration and PM Wyrom said yes.

Leafiara asked, “What if we wave the 920 item at a custom familiar talilsman?” PM Wyrom said he would have to test that and then said that from what he can see, it shouldn’t work. Players continued to request that the Call Familiar items be reduced in price.

Ashraam also stated they thought the extraplanar bane item was too high in cost. Players provided a range of suggestions for pricing. PM Wyrom said, “I’ll lower the price of extraplanar, but it won’t be that low. So if it doesn’t sell, it won’t sell.” He then said he’d probably make it 100K BS off of its original price and then said, “We just won’t bring it back.”

PM Wyrom stated, “No price adjustments or anything until I restock the shop, that won’t be tonight.” then in response to how much advance notice he’d give, “I’ll post.”

Tysong reposted a post written by PM Wyrom from the forums about the HESS restocking.

GM Avaluka stated, “And regarding the quiver certs … I’d be willing to consider going back to using a limited amount instead, but then I suppose there may be issues of all of them selling out within the first weekend. So I’m not sure what the best approach is. And I mean for the next run, obviously, not this run.” She added, “I do want to look over the RT on the quiver at some point and I’m willing to take suggestions on that front, but don’t expect updates very soon or at all because … whew. Ebon Gate is coming.”

Calista asked, “what determines your skill at landing [some sort of attack with the energy saves – log provided at link]?” GM Retser replied he thought it was spell aim and your level versus the target.

PM Wyrom stated, “Damage dealt by rotflares can be low, but the real damage comes in the form of the disease and DoT happening. The disease damage is hidden.” and “Once you get [he originally put 5, but changed it to 4] more ranks in necromancy, you should see a bump in effectiveness.”

Hoy asked, “does finding a token lower your bad luck resistance for an orb?” PM Wyrom responded, “Tokens are an entirely different RNG roll.” He then added, “Yes, but it’s not a guarantee. And it does carry over to future runs.” Calista asked, “is there a hard cap limit to the tokens available?” PM Wyrom said no.

A Dark Elf asked, ” I beat the OC heist most of the time, but the few times Ive died or had issues its because I observe, the marauder runs in while Im still in RT from observe, and get tackled or some cman that knocks me down and puts me in RT. Are they suppose to run in while you are still in RT from observe?” PM Wyrom responded to hide and A Dark Elf responded they were hiding with 106 spirit fog.

At 9:01 pm ET, PM Wyrom announced he was reopening the HESS.

Glimmin asked, “When’s the next DR?” PM Wyrom answered, “Next Duskruin is planned in February. Unless my boss says otherwise.”

Celby asked, “What are the 4 events this year?” PM Wyrom answered, “Duskruin, Rumor Woods, Duskruin, Ebon Gate.” He added, “We ran Rings of Lumnis, but that was just a player request.”

Ondreian asked, “is the 2 different resistances per armor for this DR, or like ever?” PM Wyrom answered, “For this DR right nowOndreian followed up, “so if you have 3 resists on your armor already, you cannot improve it?” PM Wyrom answered, “Yes, you can improve, you can’t add a new type.”
