Ouch. But not as bad as 100k BS.
Question, are the paintbrushes supposed to fit on the easel? My ebony paint brush doesn’t fit on my T1 easel. Kinda seemed like it would make sense for it to fit there given that the easel can hold a small amount (though that might just be a necessity since the painting pops on top of it once completed).

This. Sorta. It’s actually that way so you can add the canvas to it!
I’ll look at adding the ability to store a paintbrush, though.

I clearly remember being told that the storage location for paintbrushes was in the ocular socket. Did that change during development?

Hi Haliste, FYI. I submitted a bug report on this. PONDER PAINTING uses the wrong gender syntax.

Haliste, are there any stat/skill/prof/etc. checks involved in painting? It’s taking me an extraordinarily high number of paintings per rank to progress. If there is, I would have hoped being a bard would be a plus but it seems not (given my horrible ROI).

Spoiler alert!
My last two ranks have taken 41 and 42 respectively. Others are ranging 33-39 based on chatter among our little artists’ collective. It might not seem like much, but at higher ranks where it takes 5-10 mins to complete a painting, the difference stacks up.
Um… It isn’t possibly that it takes 1 painting per level you’ve already completed.. e.g. 1 for 1st, 2 for 2nd…. 40 for 40th…
?

Yes, but the #s don’t indicate it works that way cleanly, nor are the #s equal for everyone. For example, Artist J needed #36 to pass Experienced rank and #33 for Advanced.

Got it, was just thinking if there was a pattern. I’m not using mine yet because I’m focusing on the Arena hard right now, but good to know that it will be… considerable… practice.
Just to confirm, the ONLY consumable in the equation is the canvas. Brushes etc. are unlimited?

Haven’t mastered yet… but from everything I’ve seen and heard, this is a super-fun item… even at T1.

So Riend and I just tried painting in the same room and ran into some issues given how the easels are set up, which unfortunately will make any group painting events nigh impossible..
Both of us have an unaltered T1 easel, ‘a lacquered black wooden easel’. I had mine on the ground first, then Riend placed hers on the ground. Riend was able to paint on hers just fine, but when I attempted to PAINT EASEL, hers was targeted as the first in the room. I got the error message, “The black wooden easel doesn’t belong to you. You’ll have to get your own if you want to be a painter!” If I tried to PAINT OTHER EASEL, I got the message, “If you are trying to create a CUSTOM PAINTING, type TURN EASEL TO CUSTOM. If you are trying to paint a model with a pre-written style, type TURN EASEL TO <PERSON>.” The same thing for if I tried PAINT OTHER BLACK EASEL. (PAINT BLACK EASEL also targeted Riend’s easel and I likewise got the message that it didn’t belong to me.)
While I’m guessing one way around this would be to have all easels have different adjectives, so one artist could PAINT BLACK EASEL, another could PAINT MODWIR EASEL, a third could PAINT WILLOW EASEL and the like, it’d be really really nice to have other/second/third etc work for group painting sessions.

Yep. That’s a problem I hadn’t considered. I’ll have to look into it.
