Rooks kidnap people to barge

Last eve, Shinann reported to me that she saw a dark figure on the roof near docks and warehouse.

I went to investigate.

Militia guard was there and he was talking to Shinann. She stated the guard had informed her that he had the watch. As I showed up he indicated that we had it, and he took off. Seemed suspicious so we followed, but could not find him.

We went to the North dock and we heard a crossbow click. Sent a thought to the town, and a few others showed up.

Eventually, in the light of the storm, we saw a dark figure hand a small bag to a dockworker, perhaps of coins. Both slipped away.

We heard of a barge North of Voln temple, so we ran there. Found the barge and went aboard.

Guards and dockworkers were there and were hesitant show us the inventory log as we got suspicious they were by the Voln temple. We saw a hatch but returned to the barge gangplank.

Head guard, called himself Brenton, and the dockworkers were slow to say what they were loading or unloading. We asked for the ship’s inventory log, and they hesistated.

I whispered to Mohrgan to go bash open the hatch south of us. In thought, he indicated that the dockworkers began to eye him when he did.

He eventually sent a thought to me that they had pushed him down the hatch and locked it. He had been taken. So we proceeded to the hatch and we told them to set Mohrgan free. They pretended not to know whom we were talking about.

So we began to bash the hatch, despite the threat from the guard that I would be arrested. We eventually bashed open the hatch, then the guards and dockworkers began to attack us.

After we defeated them, we went down the hatch where Mohrgan was lying down. We were then set upon my Rooks, dark figures with hoods. Battle ensued, we had some casualties.

We noticed some rhimar crates, which Drektor was able to pick. We opened them and saw an ice giant sleeping in each. We debated whether to wake them or not. I wanted to see where they were from or if they had been absconded by the Rooks.

Well, as a consequence the giants were not too pleased when they did wake up, and attacked us. Then an orb came bouncing down the hatch, which was immediately closed and locked. More casualties as the orb exploded.

Eventually, as we healed and raised folks, we felt the barge moving. Then we saw smoke. Apparently, the rooks had set the barge on fire and cast it adrift.

Eventually we were able to bash open the hatch again, and jumped off the barge, ending up on the Locksmehr river.

End of tonight’s little venture, so be alert.
