Kama weapons no longer scimitars – will be fist-scythes

GM Kaikala reports there’s a weapon name re-categorization that just happened. Henceforth a kama belongs to the fist-scythe category, not a scimitar. If you have a kama and want it renamed to some other scimitar base, you will need to assist. Details

Subj: Kama Defects from Scimitar, Embraces New Life with Fist-Scythe. Also, Sickles.

Head’s up:

As of 3/23/17, ‘kama’ will no longer be added to scimitar-based weapon profiles as an alternate noun. Instead, any new applications of the noun ‘kama’ will only be applied to a weapon with a fist-scythe base.

Any owner of a scimitar-based kama may ASSIST to have the ‘kama’ wording changed to another alternate scimitar term. Note that this is for updating the ‘kama’ wording only; it does not entitle the player to a full alteration as part of the update. Players who do not wish to update their scimitar’s ‘kama’ noun may still use the weapon as normal, as well as have it worked on by merchants per normal (think of it as being grandfathered in). We HIGHLY encourage players who are buying kamas from one other to utilize the INSPECT prior to completing purchases to verify the weapon’s base type.

As an addendum, ‘sickle’, which was previously not an officially approved term for any particular weapon profile, is also now a fist-scythe alternate term.
