Subj: On a wing and a prayer
I’ll add another arkati item to the mix:

Wings are great, wings are fun
Of these special wings, there can be only one.

A goddess to follow, there’s no other way
Choose another to your permanent dismay.

Do they shoot lightning or fire or ice, Pew Pew?
Pfft, that’s been done before and would not be new.

Zests and actions they include I will admit,
but nothing more from me will you get.

“Want to know what they do,” asks the soothsayer?
Your only clue is in the words, “A wing and a prayer.”

OOC NOTES: Special restrictions that should be clearly known and understood.

These attune and will be destroyed if removed.

They can only be worn by a follower of Gosaena, convert to any other deity (or none) and they are PERMANENTLY lost. (No really. I mean it. Deleted, gone, no amount of assisting, reporting, begging, or bribing will get them back)

They make use of your distinguishing mark field. Anything currently in it, or added via merchant (or any other method) will be overwritten.

Somewhere out there, a Gosaena follower is wetting themselves, and they don’t know why.

Bah I have trying to track down the wings from the 2009 auction forever but I do not want to be a follower of Gosaena. I see how you are!

Okay, so I’ll add onto this. What GM Mazreth wouldn’t tell you guys is that when you’re wearing it every time you log into GS it plays a midi for the complete Bon Jovi song of “Livin’ on a Prayer”.

You’re welcome.

Will these attune to the character that purchases them, or can one character buy the wings, and hand them off to another character to wear-attune with?

I certainly HOPE these must be won by a follower of Gosaena.

Right, can only be worn by Goseana converts… what I’m wondering is, can a non-Goseana convert win them, and then hand them off?

The winner would not wear them, of course… just hold them, and hands them to a Goseana convert top actually wear.

I’m assuming, based on the response by Keios that quoted my post and the bolded response, that the answer is no. A Gosaena converted character must WIN them. And that’s exactly how it should be.

I doubt the auction mechanics are going to check to see what you’re converted to before allowing you to place a bid.

If you want them, bid enough to win them.

I disagree. I think a non follower can win them and convert before wearing or hand them off.

Indeed. I wouldn’t want to convert the character I’d want wearing the wings, unless I actually won the wings… and, the character who I’m taking to the auction isn’t that character.

I can understand why people would want the wings to only be win-able by already-converted Goseana people, but really, let’s be honest… these wings seem to be the sort of item that could be something a character could be built around. If you win the wings, you build a character around them, if you don’t win, then there isn’t a reason to build that character.

Me: I’m taking my Kuon paladin to the auction (she’s the one with all the silver), and if I can bid on these wings (and happen to win them), I have a different character they’re going straight to…
