Can they be poured on runestaves?
I see weighting there, and we know weighting can be stacked (a la GoS) with other abilities. So the corollary to Sven2010’s question, could the potion be stacked with something else?

I neglected to mention that we are initially limited to 100 of each oil. This amount may change if we even sell that many of each to start with.

Very neat. When you say that the bane oil won’t permanently bless a weapon, do you mean that you still need to get a bless for the bane oil to work?

Out of curiosity also, if you apply the oil will it wear off when attacking something that the bane does not effect? What I’m getting at is, can I use undead bane oil, and it only gets used up when attacking undead, or will it start to get used up regardless of what I attack?

Unless it was changed from the RtCF one, yes you lose on every swing regardless of creature alive or undead or whichever type.

any chance we can get a clue of how long the bane oils last ? is it time based or attack based ? And can you pick what kind of bane it gets ? like flaring/weighting/etc for each critter type ?

One question, though, regarding their application: Are they regarded as magic, in a way that permanent banes aren’t? I tried some on a kroderine weapon, and it didn’t seem to take, which struck me as a little odd, since kroderine, while absorbing magic, can take banes.
Either way, I still like, and have use for these!

I’m pretty sure that somewhen in the middle of the Dark/Dangerous messages a very nice Name In Red answered the questions about the Bane Oils.
… but I can’t seem to pull it up again no matter what tricks I use with the Forum!
Might we have a re-post on this, please? They’re new, people are interested and…and… nobody knows how long they last, etc.
