Auntie H Wants to Know, Who’s ready for the Dig?

Auntie Haliste spills the beans about Duskruin Dig. What it will cost, what will be there, what won’t. What’s making a debut – what is being sold for the last time. This is a fairly good sized post and it’s chock-full of details.

Duskruin Dig, with Sewers and Bloodriven Village, is just around the corner! Duskruin Arena, the combat portion of Bloodriven, will not be available with this run of the Dig but will be open during a later run in 2018. Here’s some information to help you enjoy this event.

* To enter the sewers, you will need a “rat” token or a “rat token jar”. These are available in a gold token (single use), bronze (10-use), silver (25-use), and gold (50-use) jars. These are available in the SimuCoin store.
[Note: Arena slips will also work here if you have some from previous runs, or if you purchase the wrong item.]

* To dig in the Dig area, you will need a “pickaxe”. The following are available in the SimuCoin store.
– rusted iron: single use
– pitted iron: 10-use
– rusted steel: 25-use
– pitted steel: 50-use
– invar: 100-use
– mithril: 250-use

* The Old Farmhouse, home to the NerveStave, will be closing after the February Duskruin Dig. It may reopen at a later date, but it’s time to shut these doors.

* The archaeologist has received a very large request for Moonshard Pendants and hopes to dry up that resource after February. Bloodrunes will still be plentiful, and plans to further research their many uses will continue.

* A Moment In Time (easels) will not be open for February, but it will re-open during the full run of Duskruin Arena later in the year.

* High End Scrip Shop – information is forthcoming on this. Stay tuned!

* Spellbound has been expanded to make room for incoming inventory. While the shop is largely the same for this February, additions will make their way through its door later this year. For February, more spell preps have been added, and the exciting Shimmer Trinket — along with an unlock certificate to add more uses — has been placed on the wooden shelf. Enjoy!

* Khloake and Dagger’s inventory will be retired after the February event.

* Bolt From The Blue: This shop has seen a bit of construction and is slightly larger. Items within containers have been rearranged to place like-bolts together and help with ease of browsing and selection.

* Numerous shops have had inventory updates including (but not limited to) Cacographic Critters (with some new stuff for you to enjoy), Bloodriven Bowery, Gamac’s Goods, Crosswinds and Crosshairs, Autumnal Den, and more.

* Both the unique and jackpot feeders (available in the Dig side of the event) have been “locked and loaded” and are ready for you to find all the goodies! Want some things from the jackpot feeder to whet your whistle? How about…
> Shocklance
> Permablessed UAC
> Adamantine armor accessories
> Weight reducing container
> Elemental Circlet
> Legendary Bloodrune Cloak (brand new item)
> Watering Can (from the 2016 Auction items)
> Weighted Katana with Plasma Flares
> +5 Defender Runestaff
> Tier 2 Parasite Weapon
> And much more!

* Two new legendary bloodrunes have been sighted — a storm griffin and a war griffin. If you’ve ever wanted a bit of avian flair, these bloodrunes are for you. And, if you’re lucky, you might find the new legendary bloodrune cloak which will help you settle more comfortably into your new “skin”. These cloaks, which also work with previous legendary bloodrunes in a unique and wonderful way, can be found if you dare to dig amongst the rubble of the Underground Temple.

Duskruin Dig will run from Friday, February 16 at 9:00 PM through February 25 at 11:59 PM. See you there!

The Jackpot/unique list implies the bloodrune cloaks can be found in either the dig or the sewers…but later you say “these cloaks…. can be found if you dare to dig amongst the rubble” implies you can’t find them in sewers.

Can the bloodrune cloaks be found both in the sewers and in the temple rubble dig, or just the dig?

(I don’t know if I care-it’s more that I’m curious).

Thanks!

The Dig has unique and jackpot feeders. The sewers do not.

I’m only interested in farming bloodscrip for my own purchases, are either the sewers or digging more beneficial than the other? I’ve run the sewers before but have never participated in the dig so I really have no idea. Thanks.

Subj: Re: Who's ready for the Dig?

unless they changed it the bloodscrip you get from the dig is from the shards/nuggets stuff you sell to the
archaeologist. It has been a set rate of like 5. So the sewers are much better you get shards/nuggets and you get
bloodscrip most searches

Okay, thanks. Depending on what’s in the high end script shop, that will make for an interesting choice: unique/jackpot items by digging but paltry bloodscript or bloodscript (and silvers from pawning the T3/T4 items) and effectively jackpot items buyable in the script shop…with the possibility that escalating prices will make the script shop item you’re aiming for unaffordable by the time you’ve earned enough to buy it.

The bloodrune stones are in both the sewers and the dig. The pendants too? (I don’t recall at the moment how that was done before).

In any case, I do like choices ;-).

Subj: Re: Who's ready for the Dig?
However, the sewers are essentially un-changed from previous, so you can still get the random-item drops and so on? Most of which gets pawned, but you never know…

(The last run was the first time I felt a burning need to try any of it, so I was just dipping my toe in. If I want to collect scrip & pawnable items, that’s where the sewers come in, right?

Subj: Re: Who's ready for the Dig?
There are no pendants at the dig or in the sewers. Those are an arena drop. Last year, over 100 pendents were found with only ~20% used, so there are a lot out there. They can be sold for a lot of bloodscrip though, but I didn’t see many being sold.

The dig is the only thing that has a feeder, so that’s where GM-created drops are. Moonshards, pendants, and bloodrunes are hard coded into the other systems, but we put moonshards into the feeders. We also only put the legendary bloodrune in the dig. Random treasure drops are in the sewers. The dig does not have that either.

Both pieces of the event cater to different players. Bloodscrip is the main appeal in the sewers. Digging will have GM created items. There is no combat this run.

Any chance to get the 1x/days from last August to make a reappearance in Spellbound?

Spellbound should have the items that were for sale last run in that regard. We’ll double check and post some more details tomorrow.

Why would the request for pendants lead to a desire to dry them up? If I were a businessman fulfilling a fixed order for one million widgets, I wouldn’t directly care how many widgets were left after I got those million to deliver… but I’d probably be happy if I didn’t have to buy up the few last few in order to fulfil my order – if they remained plentiful, I could source them on the cheap.

Even if the archaeologist does somehow have an interest in drying up the resource, how would he do so? Would he try to approach the arena directly to purchase their remaining stash, thus cutting out the “middleman” of adventurers first winning them and selling them to him?

I’m (mostly) not trying to be difficult here… I just don’t understand this line. Will there be no more pendants generated after this run? If so, does that mean there will be no more pendants generated ever, since there’s no arena this time?

I’m not sure where to ask for this so I’ll put it here since it was a Duskruin item..

Haliste! The wonderful easels.. do you think you can give them more options in the future? Like different frames and possibly making miniature paintings people can put in lockets?

Thanks!

Kat

Thanks Wyrom. I meant the defensive 1x/days that happened I think 2 runs ago in April 2017, not last run. Would be great if those could pop back in this run.

I have not made any updates to easels.

I have, however, added some Whisper Cloak unlocks into the feeders.

Is the dig still using these tiers that Wyrom posted during the last run in 2016?

Souvenir
Gem
Common (T2)
Uncommon (T3)
Rare (T4)
Unique (T5)
Jackpot (T6)

Or has things been consolidated and changed for this run. Thanks.
